چکیده

Davoudi-Monfared et al. (1) report in this journal the results from a clinical trial on coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients showing that subcutaneous administration of interferon beta (IFN-β) was associated with more rapid recovery severe acute respiratory syndrome 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection and decreased mortality. These findings have been corroborated by two recent phase trials during which IFN-β administered, either combination lopinavir-ritonavir ribavirin (2) or alone nebulized, inhaled form molecule (3). Recombinant therapy, lopinavir-ritonavir, also reduced mortality recently completed randomized hospitalized Middle East (MERS) (4). reports provide rationale for therapy infections syndromes, together finding an impaired type I IFN signature COVID-19 (5).

P 52: Interferon beta-a1 vs. Teriflunomide for Multiple Sclerosis

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is an inflammatory disorder, in which neurons in central nervous system (CNS) become demyelinated .MS is named for its formation of plaques due to sclerosis of myelin. Variable degree of demyelination results in mild, mediate or severe symptomatic episodes of this disease. It is commonly characterized by recurrent relapses and often followed by severe neurological disabi...

Gene-based intramuscular interferon-beta therapy for experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis.

In contrast to serial injections of recombinant interferon-beta (IFN-beta) for long-term therapy of multiple sclerosis (MS), prolonged systemic delivery of proteins derived through in vivo gene transfer may provide a more clinically relevant alternative. Here we compare the therapeutic efficacies of electroporation (EP)-mediated intramuscular IFN-beta gene transfer with repeated alternate-day i...

Significance of exosomes in COVID-19 pathogenesis and therapy

Exosomes are lipid bilayer-enclosed nano-sized vesicles, which carry various biomolecules including proteins, lipids, and microRNAs. SARS-CoV-2-loaded exosomes can be entered into the susceptible host cells, and transported viral components which are associated with viral particles intercellular transmission and spread of infection. Over-stimulation of the immune system followed by excessive pr...
